Placement Editor Guide

Position, resize, and optimize your artwork on the product

What is Placement Editor?

Placement Editor is the visual editing tool within Creation Wizard. It allows you to adjust your artwork's:

  • Position

  • Size

  • Angle

  • Alignment

on the product.

Mode Selection (Placement Mode)

Before placing artwork in Creation Wizard, you select a mode:

Two Mode Options:

Fit

Artwork automatically fits into print area

Quick placement, standard designs

Position

Manual positioning control

Designs requiring custom placement

Fit Mode Features:

  • Artwork covers the entire print area

  • Aspect ratio is preserved

  • Automatic centering

  • Quick and practical

Position Mode Features:

  • Manual X/Y coordinate input

  • Width (W) and Height (H) pixel values

  • Position dropdown: Cover, Center, Top, Bottom, Left, Right

  • Precise control

💡

Tip: Fit mode is sufficient for most cases. Use Position mode only when custom placement is needed.

Print Area

Each product has a specific print area. This area:

  • Shows the maximum print size supported by the manufacturer

  • Includes bleed margins

  • Indicates safe zone boundaries

Print Area Indicators:

⚠️ Warning: Parts of artwork extending outside the print area will not be printed!

Print area sizes vary by product type:

Position Adjustment

Manual Positioning:

  1. Click and hold the artwork

  2. Drag to desired position

  3. Release

Precise Positioning:

  1. Enter X/Y values in the right panel

  2. Or use arrow keys for fine adjustment

Quick Alignment:

  • Center: Places artwork at the exact center of print area

  • Top Align: Snaps to top boundary

  • Bottom Align: Snaps to bottom boundary

  • Left/Right Align: Horizontal alignment

Resizing

Proportional Resizing:

  • Hold Shift while dragging corners

  • Aspect ratio is preserved

Free Resizing:

  • Drag corners directly

  • Warning: Artwork may become distorted

Numerical Resizing:

  • Enter W (Width) and H (Height) values

  • Unit: inch or pixel

Fit Options:

  • Fit to Area: Fit within print area

  • Fill Area: Fill the print area

  • Original Size: Original dimensions

Rotation

To rotate artwork:

  1. Rotation Handle: Use the rotation handle above the artwork

  2. Angle Input: Enter degree value in right panel (0-360)

  3. Snap Angles: Snaps at 15° intervals

Common Rotation Angles:

  • 0° - Normal

  • 90° - 90° clockwise

  • 180° - Flipped

  • 270° / -90° - 90° counter-clockwise

Multi-Placement

On supported products, you can make multiple placements:

Available Positions:

  • Front - On most products

  • Back - T-shirt, Hoodie

  • Left Chest - T-shirt

  • Right Chest - T-shirt

  • Sleeve - Some products

Multi-Placement Workflow:

  1. Place front design in "Front" tab

  2. Switch to "Back" tab

  3. Place different or same artwork

  4. Save separately for each position

⚠️ Note: Multiple prints may incur extra costs.

Preview Modes

Different preview modes are available in the editor:

1. Wireframe Mode

  • Shows only boundaries

  • Ideal for precise placement

2. Preview Mode

  • Realistic mockup preview

  • Color/texture simulation

3. Grid Mode

  • Grid display

  • Helper lines for alignment

Color-Based Preview

Check how the artwork looks on different product colors:

Tip: Light-colored artworks look better on dark products, dark artworks look better on light products.

Saving and Applying

Apply:

  • Confirms changes

  • Proceeds to next step in Wizard

Cancel:

  • Cancels changes

  • Returns to previous state

Save Placement:

  • Saves placement as template

  • Reuse on similar products

Best Practices

1. Safe Zone Usage

  • Keep important details in the safe zone

  • Edges risk being cut off

  • Central placement for logo/text

2. Resolution Check

  • Enlargement ratio shouldn't exceed 100%

  • Pixelation risk

  • 300 DPI ideal

3. Test Preview

  • Check on different colors

  • Front and back consistency

  • Wait for mockup render

Troubleshooting

Issue

Solution

Artwork blurry

Original file resolution is low, use higher DPI

Overflow outside print area

Reduce artwork size or reposition

Rotation not working

Snap angle may be active, disable it

Color looks different

Screen calibration, mockup is for preview only

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens to parts outside the print area?

They won't be printed. The red warning in the editor indicates this.

Can I use the same placement in other creations?

Yes, you can save as a placement template and reuse it.

Does enlarging the artwork affect quality?

Yes, enlarging beyond original size can cause pixelation. Use high-resolution files.

Is multi-placement paid?

Varies by product and manufacturer. Additional cost is shown on the detail page.
